Taking The Stress Out Of Buying Gifts!

If one thing is true, it is that buying gifts can be incredibly stressful. If you're like me then we always want to get it perfect all the time. Then there is the price tag, sometimes we feel like we haven't spent enough on a gift and don't want to come off as being cheap. Other times we may spend too much and come off as overly extravagant and at the worst of all is when we cannot afford the things we want to buy! Then there are Birthdays and anniversaries that are always popping up when you're not ready. Fortunately there are plenty of ways that we can take the stress out of, well, anything which also includes the stress we put on ourselves when we give gifts.

Yes birthdays are big events but they don't have to be stressful, and in all circumstances the stress and hectic activity of buying gifts doesn't need to exist. We put all of this stress onto ourselves when trying to find the perfect gift for that special person. Here are a few ways to remove all of the gift-getting stresses.

Firstly something we can easily do is plan ahead. Grab a calendar (or two) at the beginning of each year and fill them head to toe with dates, birthdays and anniversaries, it won't take you longer than half an hour and will save you a lot of time in the future. It may be more beneficial to opt for the physical as well - digital calendars are amazing, but they aren't in your sight all of the time - a physical version is. That saying is true, you know - out of sight, out of mind, so keep those important dates in sight and at the front of your brain!

Money is another big thing - set a budget and stick to it. This removes the pain of seeming ‘cheap’, but it also ensures that you don’t overspend. Your budget is your gift bible and there’s no better word than your budget, so try your hardest not to overspend! This is all about removing the stress from the process of buying gifts, so don’t add to your stress levels by moving budgets around, they exist for a very good reason. Adjust your budget once and once only, when your first deciding on it.

Planning ahead isn't just about dates - it is about spotting gifts before we need them. Build up a bookmark list on your computer of great sites to buy certain things from like jewellery from https://www.frostnyc.com, video games from ShopTo or clothes shops like those cute little Shopify boutiques. Making a list of the good stuff on these sites is a good way to always have something in mind so you are never, truly stuck for ideas.

When you are stuck for ideas, it comes from a good place - it comes from the perfection you demand, so once again don't stress too much, plan ahead well so you can identify those amazing gifts before you actually need to give them.

Do you do any of these things? If not try them out and let me know if they've helped you.
