PopUpLDN

I'm not sure where you were last Saturday (the 8th) but if you weren't at PopUpLDN then unfortunately you missed out on an amazing day.

The event was full of young talented entrepreneurs and performers and although I didn't get to see the performers, I know they're talented because I watched through snap chat! LOL What would we do without it?

My initial plan was to go there and do some shopping, as we know I’m very good at that, however a few items that I wanted were sold out and they had to be pre ordered so I thought I'd seize the opportunity to talk to a few companys and find out more about their brands and of course share with you guys. I asked them a few simple questions and took a few pictures, I hope you enjoy!

Q: When did you launch your brand?

A: 2015, but we had what you could call our 2nd birth in 2016. When we first started we weren't as consistent as we are now, then we launched our second collection and became more persistent with Season 2 which came out on Boxing Day 2016.

Q: Why did you start Artell?

A: We wanted to have something that we could control and own.

Q: What can we expect from Artell in the near future?

A: At the moment we're working on more accessories such as eyewear, leather goods, purses wallets & passport covers.

Q: When did you launch your brand?

A: NicoleVeronique started in September 2015.

Q: Why did you start NicoleVeronique?

A: I don't like wearing what others wear and I've always wanted to own my own clothing brand. I hate when I go out and see multiple women wearing the same thing as me or everyone knowing where I got it from so I created my own brand. With NV I only release a small amount of the same item so thats not something my customers have to worry about.

Q: What can we expect from NicoleVeronique in the near future?

A: NV has a swimwear range too called 'CakeSwim' but at some point I would like to expand and do Mens and Kids clothes too, probably when I have my first child so we can be matching. *giggles*

Styleboxx.

Q: When did you launch your brand?

A: October 2016 last year, we began selling bobble hats when it started getting cold.

Q: Why did you start Styleboxx?

A: I'm a stylist but it's hard to be freelance stylist, I wanted to have a something on the side that involved fashion. I had the idea of starting a boutique and hats were the first thing that came to mind. When I started researching I thought it would be a good idea to start with hats as it was winter and then go from there. I then continued and branched out to various styles of glasses. I try to keep the ones we sell unusual so they're harder to find and not everybody has them.

Q: What can we expect from you in the near future?

A: We will probably stick to seasonal wear and go according to that.

Sinister Lifestyle.

Sinister Lifestyle.

Q: When did you launch?

A: November 2016

Q: Why did you start Sinister Lifestyle?

I had a dream one night, almost like a vision and I woke up with the word 'sinner' in my head. It was as if God was telling me that the sins I'm committing don't have to have a negative outcome and that I can turn them into good and make something positive come from it. No ones perfect and we're bound to fall back into sin as humans, we live in a society where everything is a battle between good and evil and it was just an a push to acknowledge my sins and repent for them which is why I made Sinister Lifestyle.

Q: What can we expect from you in the near future?

A: We’ll definitely be expanding with the new season items, I think the website says a lot without saying too much, check it out and stay tuned.

Soul Purpose.

Q: When did you launch your brand?

A: In 2015

Q: What made you start Soul Purpose?

A: We’re a hip hop group influenced by soul. Casual is the name of the last EP. We were going on tour and realised we had no merchandise to sell to our supporters so we decided to create some.

Q: What can we expect from you in the near future?

A: We'll continue to make various designs for our supporters whilst touring and in winter we may do hoodies.  Probably more seasonal items and then as we produce more music projects we'll release more clothing.

It was great speaking to each of the brands and gaining an understanding about them. As I mentioned earlier on, unfortunately I had to leave early which means I didn’t get to talk to all of the company’s that were there and some that I did speak to I didn’t get enough information about them but they were all equally as amazing so here's a list of them for you to have a look at and hopefully I'll come into contact with them at another event in the near future.

I believe its imperative that we stand by our local brands and support them just as we would Louis Vuitton, Balenciaga and Tom Ford ETC. They all started somewhere right?
