Hair Journey - Advice, curl patterns and "Unprofessional" afros.
The natural hair movement seems to have taken over the world of relaxer and it is known that the relaxer sales have fallen over the past few years.
I'm so glad we've finally begun to accept our natural hair after centuries of being told that our hair is "unkempt, unprofessional and ugly". How can something that is organically grown from your body be unprofessional? That's another discussion altogether.
I'm writing this blog post today because today is wash day. After cowashing, a quick shampoo and a final condition I'm now sitting on my bed with a towel on my head. It has been said that drying your hair with a towel can break hair and so can excessive heat we actually can't win, or can we? Rollers or air dry perhaps?
Nevertheless I'm determined this year to take my natural healthy hair growth journey more seriously, by that I mean actually make active decisions that I know will help my hair become healthier thicker and stronger and whilst doing so support those who are on this journey too.
If you've been following my blog you'll know that I was raised in a hair salon and also studied hairdressing so I'll often get messages from friends I don't speak to regularly just for hair advice and I really don't mind.
Bad hair makes is something that i don't like seeing and we're all on this journey together so I'm willing to share any tips I might have no matter how small or big I think they are so if you have any questions feel free to message me via Insta DM or email and I'll give some advice.
Who else is on a natural hair journey with me?
